Well, the Blackberry Tour is finally out for Sprint and Verizon and this is a quick review from using the Sprint version for a week. The screen on this thing is truly amazing. Much sharper than on the Curve. Also, the keyboard is revamped and to my delight it works very well. There has been a little debate as to the differences between the Curve and the Tour keyboards but I can tell you that I am writing this on my Tour keyboard and it is smooth as silk. I have not made a single mistake yet. On the Curve I know I would have had to use the backspace many times by now.
The speed on the Tour is much quicker than that of the Curve (oops…my first keyboard blunder). Applications start faster and I haven’t really had thew hourglass show up even after I loaded up 12 simultaneous apps. Memory plays a big part as well and the Tour is chock full of it. There is 128 MB usable in addition to having a 16GB expansion card (after market – the Tour ships with 1 GB installed).
I do have a major complaint, though. The bootup time on this bad boy is, well, SLOW. I know I am not the only one to experience this, but at least I won’t have to battery pull very often. Having Quickpull restarting my Tour at 2 AM everyday automatically takes care of that.
